Palmer Luckey, who recently parted ways with Facebook after funding a controversial Donald Trump-supporting meme group, is now developing advanced border surveillance technology, it has been reported.

His system would be cheaper to build than Mr Trump’s proposed Mexico border wall, according to people familiar with the plans.

PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, an adviser to Mr Trump, reportedly plans to invest in Mr Luckey’s new company.

Why It Could Take 125 Years to Pay for President Donald Trump’s 1,300 Mile Mexican Border Wall

The original estimate of the wall is $20 billion, but assuming the wall will be 40 feet high and span 1,300 miles, Johnson suspects covering the entire wall in photovoltaic panels will require 13.4 million panels, or 4.6 gigawatts, and cost an additional $7.6 billion– a 38% increase to the original $20 billion estimate –including a $6 billion project sales price and an additional $1.6 billion cost to the government for funding its 30% investment tax credit.

Walls of Shame: The US-Mexico Border Wall

It matters little what they are called – walls, barriers or fences – the intention is the same: to redefine human relations into “us” and “them”.

The Walls of Shame series is about division, and about the barriers that men erect, in calculation or desperation, to separate themselves from others, or others from them. When diplomacy and conciliation fail, this is the alternative, and not since medieval times have walls been so in demand around the world.

Colloque “La photographie, une histoire de frontières ?” Maurice Sherif – BNF December 3, 2015

Maurice Sherif – Centre Pompidou September 21-2015

Unsolicited Proposal Program 2015-16 Winner

the 2015-16 Unsolicited Proposal Program. We received 472 eligible proposals, from 58 countries, that were voted on by an international panel of 170 jurors. Jurors were asked to read at least 50 anonymous proposals. Over 6,700 votes were cast to determine the winning proposals.

Exhibition “Fencing In Democracy” on the U.S.-Mexico border wall will invite dialogue about the politics of militarization and the ways in which border walls unite and divide communities globally. The works range of Maurice Sherif’s photography with its emphasis on the harshness of the border wall’s metal and rendering of the landscape as barren.
